   For Sale: HD Fury's Eclipse

HD Furys Eclipse: An incredible gift of the true desert Arabian.

HD Furys Eclipse is an extraordinary 15+ hand true black straight Egyptian with the finest of old and new bloodlines, bred from the most exquisite horses the world has ever seen.  I have heard it rightly said, “Quality breeds quality”. His pedigree traces back to the bloodlines of Nazeer, Moniet El Nefous, Shaloul, Ibn Rabdan and other great horses with a great deal of type style, presence and size. These horses are the ‘cornerstones’ of a successful breeding program and there is a telling effect that can’t be missed. I have always had the highest respect for the many breeders that had the foresight and dedication to breed horses of such admirable quality.

It is important to breed for the preservation of the ideal type of horse that was so carefully bred and cared for, for thousands of years. This holds true for whatever bloodlines you are using. Lord forbid that they should  lose their classic physical type as well as their famed ‘do it all’ athletic abilities that the Egyptian Arabian possess.

The sheer beauty of the Egyptian Arabian horse is so attracting. This statuesque stallion is the embodiment of the Bedouin tent dweller with his willing and very calm and gentle nature. Athletic and ready to work with a jovial attitude, Fury is a pleasure to be around. As he affectionately comes to greet his friends and family, Fury is a joy to behold with his elegant buoyant movement and majestic classic beauty. Having the gentle fire of the charismatic Egyptian Arabian horse, yet still gentle and curious, sometimes to the point of being bothersome, if one felt that way! He is charming, personable and affectionate horse with a tremendous attitude.

No other horse possesses the mystical air of the black. True to his Bedouin ancestor’s type, Fury carries his satiny head, neck and tail high; his large expressive eye flashing fire as he saunters around the pasture with a proud carriage, graceful and swift. With pleasing proportions Fury has a clean well muscled body. His glossy black coat is as a fine silk garment worn by a royal prince. He steps as if on air, naturally balanced and lithe in dexterity. Expressive ears, deep jowel and nostrils large as he runs and shows off for us with the flip of a firm yet delicate muzzle; he seems to beckon us to watch as he frolics. He flies to a quick stop on circular, dense, smooth hooves and quick as he stopped he dances off again…on legs made of strong clean bone as dense as ivory. What freedom of movement … Fury truly possesses the embodiment of gracefulness!

To find a black Arabian that is true in color, correct, of good size and temperament, and able to perform is not an easy task; A horse of both show and breeding quality.  A true black has a coat the mirrors the look of black glass.

Although we at Cornerstone Farm do not breed straight Egyptian horses, we know and covet the bloodlines. By having a dedicated breeding program an individual is able to obtain more results by following these successful lines when it comes to type and quality horses. The Bedouins were scrupulous in keeping the purity of their horses; breeding to maintain correctness and quality, beauty and integrity.  The Bedouins life depending on his horse performing at their best, so he bred what performed well. The Egyptian horse, having been bred for centuries from a closed gene pool, would produce predictably even when crossed with non-straights and other breeds. Fury has given us a valuable addition to our crossbred sport pony-breeding program. We only regret that we haven’t been able to use him much much more to preserve his valuable pedigree. We especially like the Egyptian bloodlines because of the athletic abilities they bring. Many individuals are fascinated with the image of the perfect black Arabian, so there is always a market for a black breeding program with the offspring selling easily at weaning time.

Fury passes on his rocking horse canter, smooth floating trot and free ground covering gallop. He passes on the naturally balanced action combined with suspension needed for dressage and other equine disciplines. Added to this, Fury passes along his extremely kind temperament, beautiful type and refinement.

Just in the prime of his life, strong and ready for anything good, Fury could enter into ‘any’ equine discipline. He would make an awesome dressage stallion. Encompassing all these attributes would greatly contribute to any quality breeding program or sporting horse events.

"Do you give the horse his might?

Do you clothe his neck with a mane?

Do you make him leap like a locust

His majestic snorting is terrible..."

~Job

Arabian blood is a proven source of highly desirable characteristics. All American horse breeds trace in part to imported Thoroughbreds and thus ultimately back to the Arabian breed. Not one modern sport horse or pony does not go back directly, or through Thoroughbred bloodlines to the Arabian. The construction of the Arabian horse is fundamentally different from the build of any other breed of horses. The Arabian is known for the quality of bone, which is as dense as ivory, the short, wide tapering concave skull, with seemingly larger brain than usual, large circular eye sockets and fewer vertebrae in the back and tail. The Arabians' naturally higher head carriage opens up the breathing passage and along with its expansive nostrils and large windpipe, allows greater oxygen intake. The high held tail is a natural cooling system in warm weather. Because the Bedouins lived in the desert, it was necessary to breed horses for strength and endurance. The beautiful Arabian type must have been developed for practical reasons. Elegance in appearance should never be lost sight of as it is indicative of the subtle strength peculiar to the desert breed. The Arabian possesses a smoothly muscled body whose form is essentially one of utility. These qualities contributed to the overall character, intelligence and graceful symmetry of the Arabian horse.  HD Fury’s Eclipse has these attributes and can pass these cherished qualities on to his offspring as a breeding sire of great value.

As their ancestors were valuable war horses, the modern Arabian like HD Fury’s Eclipse still has these same qualities. Their stamina, speed, intelligence and disposition make them well suited for all modern equine sports, including racing, reigning, stock horse, formal and pleasure driving, English and Western pleasure, cutting, side saddle, park horse, equitation and dressage, costume and all trail riding competition.

Part bred Arabians can combine the best points of differently bred but compatible breeds. When two breeds are bred together or crossed, the offspring have "hybrid vigor" or are superior to either parent horse in many aspects. The straight Egyptian Arabian preserves a concentrated gene pool for breeding, most useful for inbreeding to concentrate particular qualities or outcrossing with other lines.

These are horses that are full of understanding toward their owners and are more dog like than any other breed of horse. An Arabian usually becomes like a member of the family. They are usually affectionate and docile to handle. They respond to human companionship, and the more they have of it, the closer becomes the understanding and love between the horse and his owner. What can one desire more than a ride over the meadow or through the forest astride his steed? The beautiful expressive head, large liquid soft eye, muscles so well placed that if you pass your hand over him you will feel a rippling mass of muscle, sinew, bone and strength all covered with a skin that feels like the softest silk. His clean legs, the well shaped feet lightly stepping as if on air. The wonderful length of stride from his strong hocks with a tail carried high over his magnificent quarters. He is a horse that will love to be ridden, never clumsy or mean. He will love to be curried and will whinny softly through his nostrils if he knows you're coming to see him. He will come to your calling and touch you softly with his small fine muzzle as if to kiss you. I have grown to love these noble beasts and am thankful for what God has so finely crafted and made for mankind to use and care for; the gift of the horse.

HD Fury's Eclipse is an extraordinary stallion with treasured bloodlines.

It has been said that the promise of the past is the fulfillment of the future.

"This horse typifies the temperament of the Bedouin tent dweller. Fury brings to mind the nomadi war horses of old. Brave enough for battle, yet calm and loving enough to be trusted among the tents with small children playing at his feet.  A wonderful blend of the best in 'new' and 'old' Eqyptian breeding offered in the United States today. A beautiful and correct individual. HD Furys Eclipse is an Al Khamsa horse of 100% Eqyptian breeding. These are my conclusions after meeting this horse and doing this work on his pedigree with information available of October 2000. Jean Ivey"
