Pleasantstone Sacagawea 5-01 (CS
Braveheart X CS Marlyn)
This filly is special to us
not only because she is 30/22nds Arabian blood and a rare overo marked
Pinto Arabian but also because she is line bred Madron. (pictured below)
Madron's offspring are a valued part of Pleasantstone's breeding stock.
They continue the valuable tail female line of Enshalla Jaisa**.
Madron's full sister, Life's Magic** (both Madron and Life’s Magic were
bred by Julie Mahoney) produced Enchanter Magic, Canadian National
Champion Stallion, Brazilian National Jr. Champion Stallion, and United
States Reserve National Champion ( at Midwest Arabians.) Madron, now
deceased, pictured below.

We are proud to be part of such beautiful
and successful Arabian bloodlines and CS Sacagawea will be a very
proponent brood matron as well as show and pleasure mare. The broodmare
is truly the heart of a breeding program or as the name "foundation"
implies, the solid groundwork supporting everything. The foundation
broodmare is the "bottom" upon which anything stands. We have either
bred our mare foundation stock over many long years or sought out the
combination we desired for our breeding program from outstanding
individual breeding programs. CS Marlyn, the dam of Sacagawea is one of
these important foundation mares.

In breeding CS Braveheart (Madron X Mantha’s Ms Panda) to
Marlyn (Madron X Misha Adana) we linebred to get Pleasantstone
Sacagawea.
Studies have proven that out-crossing and the larger gene
pool will produce offspring enhanced with hyper-vigor, combined with
line breeding to strengthen specific desired characteristics. In the
Madron bloodline we saw and sought to breed in these special
characteristics. The knowledge of learning how to blend desirable
characteristics with success is the true "art" of breeding. With
Sacagawea we have accomplished our breeding goal to fix in these desired
traits. To breed her on to a worthy stallion would be a dream come true.
If bred to the right black Arabian stallion it is very likely that
Sacagawea could produce a high percentage Arabian blood black and white
pinto!…. breeding like this takes a lot of time and is extremely
valuable to the pinto Arabian or pintabian breeder.
Pleasantstone Sacagawea is elegant like her
sire CS Braveheart (above) and exceptionally pretty like her dam CS
Marlyn (now proudly owned and shown by Dawn Hallock, Pa.) Saca is quite
an athlete and moves with supple grace. With a good and able trainer
nothing will stop her from being a beautiful and ‘DOable’ mount. Her
movement is precise and she is as a high quality vehicle with tremendous
shocks on her fluid far reaching steps. She is very quick and could be
used as a confident swift cow pony if her new owner has some ranch work
to accomplish. She would also make a stunning dressage mount. Since she
moves so well, with grace and ease. She likes to go… I could also see
her as a capable endurance horse as well.
The Arabian is known for the quality of
bone, which is as dense as ivory, the short, wide tapering concave
skull, with seemingly larger brain than usual, large circular eye
sockets and fewer vertebrae in the back and tail. The Arabians'
naturally higher head carriage opens up the breathing passage and along
with its expansive nostrils and large windpipe allows greater oxygen
intake. The high held tail is a natural cooling system in warm weather.
Because the Bedouins lived in the desert, it was necessary to breed
horses for strength and endurance. The beautiful Arabian type must have
been developed for practical reasons. Elegance in appearance should
never be lost sight of, as it is indicative of the subtle strength
peculiar to the desert breed. The Arabian possesses a smoothly muscled
body whose form is essentially one of utility.
These qualities contributed to
the overall character, intelligence and graceful symmetry of the Arabian
horse. Pleasantstone Sacagawea has these Arabian qualities from her
soft silken muzzle to the tip of her high-flying tail.
Saca, shown below, is now offered to a
special home. $3,000.00 all serious offers or non- livestock trades will
be considered.
