We are so pleased to announce the new
home in Whidbey island Washington for our very beloved first purebred
Welsh Cob filly by our 'D' stallion, Earl and our 'D' Cob mare,
Boneddiges; Pleasantstone Halal.
5-27-08
A huge thank you and best wishes to Kelly Scotthanson of Mistyvale farm
on her purchase of Pleasantstone Halal.
After a couple months in training with
Gary Aiken at family Partner Welsh Halal will travel to her new home
with Kelly and Miss Emma Scotthanson. I wish them the very best
and look forward to hearing about their progress together. I am so
excited for Halal...she is a beautiful young mare...and we could not be
happier for her in her new home.

After 45 days at Gary and Gretchen's my lovely cob Halal arrived to
great fanfare. I have not owned a horse of my own for 18 years not
since the birth of my oldest who is 18 so I was quite thrilled.
She had clearly been cared for at Gretchen's thanks to both of them.
She is stunning and those of you who know me know I would not just
say that because she is mine. Stunning head , long mane and tail
ooohhh so pretty.
Poor timing created a
situation where she got here and sat for two
weeks as my arena installer and friend was hospitalized. Not ideal
for a just started green mare.
But I was able to take her out into the cross ties for what I call a
spa treatment most people call grooming. She was shall we say fussy.
Not mean just fussy. Well for me this was a huge problem as I don't
so much as groom my animals as fuss over them for at least an hour
sometimes two and she was having none of it.
I really had to think about this because getting after her was Not
going to help. Thinking ... then I know... If she has that much
energy she must need more work- out to the back lawn (arena under
construction) back to the cross ties - moving and calling oh I had
no idea you were still feeling so energetic you get the idea. Being a
very good girl at heart it became very clear it was MUCH easier to
stand quietly.
Now in all fairness she had made two moves in two months and didn't
know me from atom but my is she clever and now we are real friends
loves her spa treatments as a girl should and we are fast friends.
I am very happy. A huge thank you to Julie for selling her to me.
Trainer says three very smooth gates and a soft mouth. All good
points. She has not even offered to buck or refuse. I am working
her on the ground before the trainer hops on then cooling her out
after wards. I am really out of shape.. AGR!!
Thanks for all your support

It was really a pleasure to go and see Julie and David's wonderful group
of cobs. What NICE girls -- it was hard making a choice between them. I
could have easily come home with any of them -- though Pearl REALLY
tried hard to get in our trailer and come with us! They were all so
sweet and friendly, and just beautiful girls.
Halal's new owner is VERY excited,
and we look forward to getting her going under saddle. It will be fun.

Congratulations, Kelly! I think you are going to really like her. :-)
She's a very nice girl -- it was hard to choose though, because they
were ALL nice.
She's had some sessions with Gary, and he is pleased with her. I'll try
and get some photos for you over the weekend!

It is with great joy that I can write that I am soon to be the proud
owner of Pleasantstone Halal. A stunning cob mare just purchased from
Julie and David Mahoney. I want to thank Gretchen and Gary Aitken for
being willing to pick her out for me and for training at their place. I
have not owned a horse of my own in years ... everyone had a horse but
me and I confess I was getting whiney. As it turned out it was all for
the best.
Thank you again Julie and Gretchen

I just spoke with the vet and Halal passed with flying colors.
The vet really liked her.
thank you again Julie I will keep you updated on her progress with
Gretchen and Gary.
I would be happy to give a recommendation to anybody whom would like to
speak with me about Halal that might be interested in one of your Welsh
Cobs.

On a March 2009 phone call with Kelly ScottHanson Kelly told me that
"Bella" as she now calls Pleasantstone Halal had taken a second place in
Washington at an all Welsh show with some lovely competition after only
being with Kelly for three months. I am sure she will do well for Kelly
and we are looking forward to seeing her show in 2009, Julie Mahoney

We are very happy to announce the sale of our section C Welsh Cob mare;
Pleasantstone Pearl to Lorri Elkington of Dry Creek Welsh

http://pleasantstonewelsh.org/Sales1/Pearl.htm
We wish Lorri and Pearl many happy years on the farm together. Hopefully
Lorri will get Pearl out and about to some of our Welsh shows in the
years to come where Pearl can turn heads and 'charm her people' like
only Pearl can do.
Here are the letters from Lorri Elkington about Pleasantstone Pearl and
some of the comments from other Welsh breeders! This is so pleasing to
me because Lorri is one terrific horsewoman. She has the National
Champion Welsh Driving pair and she trained them. She is a very skilled
horse person and knows Welsh. A great home for one of our Cobs! Pearl is
13.2 hands and Lorri is 5' 6" so they look very good together.

"A couple of years ago I was SERIOUSLY
tempted by pearl and her sister. I couldn't swing it at the time but I
dreamed of them as a pair for hubby. She looks great congrats!!"

For some reason I missed some emails; and I would love to see Pearl.

Hi Julie,
Pearl is home and I LOVE her!!!! She loaded right up into my trailer
after meeting Dena at the fairgrounds! I really like her Julie. Thank
you so much.
Love Lorri
I rode her today... even trotted! I just did it in our back corral. But
she was perfect! I'll ride her in the arena tomorrow! I can't tell you
how much I am enjoying her Julie!!!
Lorri
Yup three days! I can't believe how smart she is! I already am lining up
some dressage lessons for this winter. And I'll probably show her at
halter in the Walla Walla Welsh shows next year. I do have her entered
in our fair over labor day in halter and some walk/trot classes.... ; )
I think she'll do great with cattle and drilling!
Love, Lorri
Our Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days was this last week also. We are
stalled right next to the "Old MacDonald's Farm" petting zoo.
The ponies did great at the fair. They LOVE all the attention. My new
riding pony, Pleasantstone Pearl (bought from Julie Mahoney!) , just ate
up all the attention at the fair. so she still got lots of attention.
Attached are some pictures of Pearl and all of her loves.

Pearl was also totally curious about the next door Alpacas.....
so I took her to visit them.

In halter class Pleasantstone Pearl was Reserve. In English Cimarron won
1st and Pearl and I won 2nd. In Western Pearl and I got 4th and Cimarron
got 6th... it was a bigger class of course. I have to tell you these
classes were Pearl's 13th and 14th rides under saddle! She is just
amazing!!

Thank you Mahoneys! Dixie has turned out to be the best mare we could
have
ever had. Although since we bought Dixie she has contracted moon
blindness
in her right eye she is completely at ease in her job as 'trail boss
mare'.
She is as sure footed as ever. She knows our woods like the back of her
own
paddock. We will continue to use her on the trail rides and as brood
mare
for our Pinto Arabian endurance crosses and lessons horse. She is the
trusted mare that we put all the children on. A valuable baby sitter
too!
She is such a valuable addition to our family. I know that you had
trouble
parting with her. I was happy that you still had her pretty black and
white
daughter, Onyx, bred to your beautiful Welsh Cob stallion. What a nice
foal
that cross will make!

Thank you Valistalashia family on the purchase of CS Rhubarb ( Rocky X
Mananthas Hosanna) a family horse and for their vaulting club and family
friend. The girls bonded with Rhubarb right away and he was so good in
their vaulting club that he became a valued part of the Forward Stride
Flying Star Vaulters team: This is their report:
"Rhubarb (or Rhu) is Flying Star Vaulter's proud vaulting
horse. He is a
seven-year-old Pinto-Arabian and Shire cross (imagine that). You'll
notice
him as the white and black alpha gelding with one blue eye and one
brown. He
is a horse who wants to please and learns quickly. It won't be long
before
he's carrying Forward Stride's Flying Star Vaulters to competitions in
the
Northwest and eventually the National Championships! Learn more about

Many times Champion CS Tiger Lilly by Madron sold to Roger and Kristine
to
become one of their foundation broodmares at The Shamrock K Equestrian
Center in Coffeyville, Kansas. Before Roger passed away he and Kristine
also
leased and showed our beloved mare, CS Maranantha to many championships.
Roger was a great horse trainer and he loved his 'Nantha'! (pictured
together) We miss them both.

Hi! My name is Valerie Brown, and I recently
purchased Topaz, a yearling pony from Julie Mahoney of
Cornerstone Farms. Topaz is WONDERFUL! He has a
docile, willing and easy temperment. He's never
kicked or bitten and our 3 and 4 year old children
groom him and feed him treats every day. I purchased
him over the internet through interaction with Julie,
and she is the most genuine and honest person I've
ever dealt with, honestly! My family comments every
day on how lucky we are to have acquired this
beautiful pony as part of our lives. I have been
involved in equestrian activities since age 4, and am
now 38, and have competed on the professional dressage
circuit for most of my life. I looked for a pony for
my children and was browsing the net when I found
Cornerstone's site. I can say with the greatest of
confidence, that the ponies they offer, are about the
best you will find anywhere. In terms of hauling,
Russ Caine delivered Topaz to our door, unscathed, in good shape.

CS Dancer now owned by Jesse and Julie Smith, Medford Oregon. These
young
ladies are wonderfully talented horse women and they have been training
Dancer for an all- around useful horse partner. We wish them the very
best.
Perhaps Dancer will compete at the Southern Oregon Equestrian Team for
South
Medford High-school in the future where the girls show their other
horses to
state championships. Go Dancer!
